Is Uncle Joe Biden out campaigning for Romney-Ryan?

Wait a minute. Isn’t Joe Biden President Barack Obama’s vice president and running mate?

On Tuesday, just hours before his boss, the president of the United States, takes the stage at the University of Denver, Joe Biden unleashed a barrage of rhetoric that has boisterous support of the Republican ticket.

Biden was on the stump in North Carolina when he blurted out: “The middle class has been buried during the last four years.”

Ah, Joe, you and your running mate have been in charge for the past 3-1/2 years.

It was one of Uncle Joe’s largest gaffes to date — but stay tuned the election is Nov. 6.

His Republican opponents jumped on his comment with his rival vice presidential candidate issuing this statement: “Unemployment has been above eight percent for 43 months. Our economy is limping along right now. Vice President Biden, just today, said that the middle class, over the last four years, has been ‘buried.’ We agree,” Paul Ryan reportedly said in a gathering in Iowa. “That means we need to stop digging by electing Mitt Romney the next president of the United States.”

A former New Hampshire governor even got in on the response to Joe’s comments. John Sununu reportedly said, “Thank you Vice President Biden.”

If Joe weren’t such a likeable guy it might prove to be a good move if the Obama campaign team sent him to the showers early. More gaffes such as the one issued on Tuesday might be difficult for the pairing to cover up.

How did Joe’s boss respond to the most recent rhetorical slip? No word yet, but if we don’t see Uncle Joe until the vice presidential debate, don’t be surprised. The veeps will square off on Oct. 11 at Centre College in Danville, Ky., at 8 p.m. Central Time.

I wonder if Joe will end up agreeing with Paul Ryan or take another approach?
