The second truck load of Mississippi Mission flood relief donations almost couldn’t find a place to go. Originally headed for Hannibal, Missouri, where the first truck went, it was rerouted to Wright City when Hannibal said they had run out of storage space.

Kris Sanda of Staples was among the final seven members appointed to the new Minnesota Racing Commission by Gov. Rudy Perpich. She is one of four women on the nine-member panel. Former Gov. C. Elmer Anderson of Brainerd is also a member.

The wave of thefts of beach umbrellas and lawn chairs continued over the weekend, according to police. Hit were the houses of Elmer Long on14th Ave. NE, David Klang, on Ronald St. and Charlie Mull of S. 6th Street.

Ed Levant is the possessor of a Cadillac car, a 40 horsepower five passenger machine. “You know I can’t run the machine yet,” said Ed. “It’s that gray looking car standing in front of my store. The only trouble we had is first day out Harry ran over a dog.”
