When my dog Penni was killed in a recklessly set conibear trap last December
I contacted John Ward.
The laws governing the use of those lethal traps are
so lax they defy common sense for such a deadly device. I expected a
response because John Ward is known for responding to constituents so it
didn’t surprise me when I saw his reply in my email list.
What did surprise me was that despite already having a full schedule he had
immediately started working on improving the lax trapping regulations that
are killing so many of our dogs every fall. It’s clear that he understands
the meaning of public service.
Unfortunately, all attempts to fix the regulations failed on mostly party line
votes but it wasn’t from lack of effort on John Ward’s part. We need to
send John back to St. Paul because St. Paul needs more hard working
legislators who understand the meaning of public service.
