Reader Opinion: Voting accordingly
I couldn't help but notice that in explaining why he lost the 2016 election, Stewart Mills III took a page right out of Donald Trump's playbook: blame everyone but himself for his failures.
He blames the National Republican Congressional Committee for pulling funding for his campaign two weeks before the election as the reason he lost. Being a multi-millionaire, Mills could have easily paid for his own campaign during that short period of time. But, no, he apparently liked the idea of having others pay his way.
A more plausible explanation would be that the two-time loser simply didn't have a message that resonated with the 8th District voters, and he wasn't going to change his deplorable message in the final two weeks. The populace recognized that for what it was and voted accordingly.
