Reader Opinion: In our hearts
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate US from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Amen! Romans 8:38 and 39.
William Penn, who started the Pennsylvania colony, wrote a book, "No Cross, No Crown." "No pain, no palm; no cross, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown."
I saw the neatest words to a song, "Suffer your cross while waiting for your crown, and tell the world of the great treasure you've found." Cool, huh?
Sounds like it's "pray, vote, pray" season again! I'm afraid there's such a hatred going around, fracturing this country, a lot of people won't pause and really see what's best for the country, just vote from their hate and not from their heart, and that scares me about this election! It's not an "either-or," it's a "can't we all get along" situation.
In the song "America the Beautiful" the song ends with this line, "America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea." Haven't seen brotherhood here in America for awhile!
Nikita Khrushchev said America would collapse from within. When the Jews forgot to worship God, he allowed them to be conquered and captured many times. God, in his mercy, brought them back until they did it again. America hasn't gotten to that point yet, but we're close. When the Jews were scattered, they were still Jews and God's people. Christians are God's, whether America acknowledges God or not, he's in our heart, not Washington, D.C. Amen!
