Reader Opinion: God help us
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones." Amen! Proverbs 3:5-8.
I never wrote about my son's graduation. It was awesome and very chilly. As I was thinking about that night, it dawned on me, there was no prayer. What's sad was I just thought about it, like God has been so removed from the public square! I'm glad God hasn't forgotten we have Him, and still blesses this Nation.
If I were to give a prayer that night, and God only knows of all the graduations at Brainerd High School, this is probably the one that's needed most for the future it's facing. I would start my prayer not with my words but God's words. The above verse would be my charge to them, then Numbers 6:24-26: "The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace. Amen."
Read Psalm 78:4&7 and do it! God help us. Amen.
