Reader Opinion: Honor and respect our police

"One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts." Psalm 145:9.

A Policeman's Prayer:

"When I start my tour of duty, God,

"Wherever crime may be,

"As I walk the darkened streets alone,

"Let me be close to thee."

"Please give me understanding

"With both the young and old.

"Let me listen with attention

"Until their story's told."

"Let me never make a judgment

"In a rash or callous way,

"But let me hold my patience...

"Let each man have his say."

"Lord, if some dark and dreary night,

"I must give my life,

"Lord, with Your everlasting love

"Protect my children and my wife. Amen."

Respecting and honoring of our police is almost a gauge of where society is. It's almost like we need the police to keep people from each other!

We had a "wall," the wall of respect God gave us for each other that this country is throwing more and more away each day by putting man ahead of God in charge of hearts and minds. Amen.

Evolution is taking away God as our maker and putting to chance and man's hands. I know a pastor who calls evolution, "From the goo to the zoo to you." I want a God to thank for life, not goo!

If we all followed Jesus' greatest commandment, Matt 22:37-39: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. And You shall love your neighbor as yourself." If we could only imagine this instead of John Lennon's "Imagine," how much of a better world we could have, looking out for each other and give the police a break! Amen? Amen.
