Reader Opinion: Pickar brings a new vision

When a time for fresh vision and energy is needed in the private sector it is pretty simple—hire a new leader. When fresh vision is needed in our community, we rely on elections. Those at the top tend to promote people who will support their agenda and continue their way of thinking. It's time for a fresh vision and renewed energy in the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office.

I've known Pat Pickar for almost 20 years. I have seen Pickar in many different roles—a father, K-9 trainer, coach, business owner and friend. As president of the United State Police Canine Association, overseeing four states and Manitoba, Canada, Pickar was open to new ideas advancing our organization. No doubt, Pickar will do this for the sheriff's office. Electing Pickar for sheriff will bring new perspectives, fresh ideas and a renewed energy, which has been overlooked by the current status-quo.
