Open Forum: Crossing Arts Alliance says thank you

I would like to express my gratitude publically to Mark Turner, executive director of Five Wings Arts Council, Five Wings board member Laura Bush, Josh Wise from MN Citizens for the Arts, and Minnesota State Sen. Paul Gazelka for presenting a big operational grant check for $30,000 to The Crossing Arts Alliance at the Q Gallery at Franklin Arts Center. Also thank you and condolences to Minnesota State Rep. John Ward, who planned to help present the check, but was not able due to a funeral. The Crossing Arts Alliance truly appreciates the fact that our activities are funded, in part, by the Minnesota arts and heritage fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008. It’s great to live in an area where our legislators understand the long term benefits of the arts!

Thank you also to Alice Ritter, Crossing Arts office manager, Crossing Arts board members, volunteers and members who are committed to the mission: to promote and enhance arts opportunities in the central lakes area through facilities, partnering, and programming.

Appreciating and celebrating the arts honors our creative nature as human beings, bridges gaps, and provides a more positive understanding of the world. Arts experiences bring value, vitality, and help bond and strengthen our community.

A huge thank you.
