Citing excessive cost, Mills stops recount push

Your chance to express your opinions

Every day we meet veterans of past wars, recent and even current wars. It is always good to see them back “home.” Unfortunately many did not make it back, having paid the ultimate sacrifice. Others have been traumatically injured — often for life.

Nevertheless, they proudly served us and their country well — whether stateside or abroad in combat or not.

Let us remember that their families also made sacrifices while their service men and women were away from home.

So — let us thank those veterans and their families whenever they cross our paths in life. They need at least a verbal sign of appreciation — and recognition. Above all, we suggest doing this the other 364 days of the year that are not designated Veterans’ Day.

Thank you, most sincerely, veterans and your families. We owe you big!
