Open Forum: Help sought for Civil War exhibit

The Crow Wing County Historical Society and Museum continues to work on improvements to our displays of Crow Wing County history. Our staff and volunteers are now setting up two new exhibits of local interest. One is a display of Civil War artifacts. Would you believe we have found names of more than 170 Civil War veterans from his area? We have a limited number of items to display but are searching for more. Another project is a Paul Bunyan display that we have a request for. Again we are starting with very little and looking for more and some good ideas. With Paul Bunyan being a big part of this community it seems this should be a part of our history. If you can help on these goals give us a call. Also the museum will be holding a holiday open house on Dec. 1, 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come and enjoy a tour and light refreshments.
