Putting greed first
We are all aware that Walmart is synonymous with low prices and made in China. Recently we decided to visit a high-end store, Dillards. Surely we would find products made in America there. The store was full of American brand name merchandise. All of it was made in China, Pakistan, Vietnam, Jordan, Egypt, etc. When we asked a saleswoman where the department was that sold products made in America, she just laughed and walked away. A lot of the branded merchandise was the same as found in Wal Mart only much higher in price.
Why does a company have to sell a product for over $200 that was made by someone making 31 cents an hour other than corporate greed? And the CEO has to justify his millions of dollars in salary and bonuses by making the decision to ship jobs overseas and make excessive profits. No one man is 400 times smarter or works 400 times harder than the rest of the employees. Our economy is never going to improve if corporations put greed ahead of our country’s work force.
