Let the Vikings take care of the stadium issue

Let the Vikings build stadium

The inordinate amount of time being wasted on the Vikings stadium issue by the legislature, the governor, and unknown numbers of staff dollars, is now bordering on criminal activity.

Please take care of the jobs you were elected for, and let private business take care of itself.

We elected people, both Republican and Democrat, to take care of our schools, roads, and so forth, not the Vikings. We’ve shorted the schools $2.1 billion, for over the past two years. This would now be considered in the “deadbeat” status by bill collectors.

What sort of message are you sending to my children and grandchildren? That the games played by the wealthy are more important than our children’s educations?

I enjoy watching the Vikings lose as much as anyone, but if they can’t make enough millions and billions to satisfy themselves by staying here, I wish them well. I can watch them on TV wherever they go. Life is more than football. Football is only a sport; entertainment.

With the new emphasis on brain injuries, and the scandals revealed concerning deliberate maiming and injuries, mandates will slow the sport down anyway. Interest (and sales revenue!) will wane in the future also.

Jobs? Let’s hire back some teachers, and other school staff!

Get back to work and find funding for our schools, please.

Some of us are really fed up.
