Parade belongs in Brainerd

Congratulations to the Brainerd Jaycees. Finally reality has arisen for the Fourthy of July parade, it belongs in downtown Brainerd and I support their efforts. Nothing against Baxter, our sister city, it is just not the place for the historic parade. The Jaycees have done what should have been done a long time ago; they researched the parade route and eliminated the so called inability to cross highways. I am sure they will do a very professional job and cut the costs for the parade.

It is time to look at eliminating the Community Action and the great cost to operate this non-city department.

Volunteers are available to fill all of the needs that were covered by this department.

Thank you Jaycees for stepping forward and I know this will be a very smooth transition under their leadership. Paul Bunyan and Johnny Inkslinger will be very proud of you.
