Brainerd's strange twists

While driving by the construction area today between the high school and college I noticed a great deal of traffic and activity at Don Adamson field.

Turns out that Kinderfriends had a field trip scheduled with parents encouraged to come and watch. Funny how our school district can decide it is okay to allow children near a construction site during construction, but our city council can’t risk exposing our citizens to such a safety risk.

I become suspicious when safety concerns are used to deny events that decision makers don’t want in their backyard. I hope Baxter appreciates Brainerd giving away their traditional Fourth of July parade and festivities.

Maybe the parade will come back next year. And maybe the Twins will win the World Series too. Let’s just hope.
