Roadside memorials

I live on County Road 8 just south of the Green Lantern. The other day I saw a county employee in a county truck pull up a roadside memorial where a

motorcyclist died last year. It was off the road in the gravel – not in the grass even. It had a bandanna, some necklaces, etc…draped over a small

wooden cross. I pulled over and watched him walk over to the cross, look at the stuff, then pull it up and put it in the back of the truck; all the time watching me watch him.

I wondered what the family of the man would have felt if they saw this happen. Then I wondered if there is a policy about the roadside memorials. I have seen some of them decorated for months and months; others like this one, last only a few weeks. Can you address this? Just curious. Thank you.
