Who is extreme?
Recently in an interview with the Associated Press, President Obama said that Mitt Romney was “extreme” because of his views on downsizing government. Here are some quotes from some of our founding fathers that he must really think are extreme if Romney is too conservative.
“Government is not reason; it is not eloqence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”
“Americans need never fear their government because of the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation.”
“A government big enough to give you everything you need is a government big enough to take away everything that you have.”
“The Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed....No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”
-Noah Webster (father of public education in America on the use of the Bible as a textbook)
These men built this country using their “extreme” views. Who do you think they would consider too extreme?
