Ward walks the talk

Ward walks the talk

In watching the recent debate between John Ward and Chris Kellett, I was struck by something Rep. Ward said: that he doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk. It’s what we really want from all of our elected officials and the promises they make while campaigning, and in Rep. Ward’s case, we actually get that.

Rep. Ward doesn’t just say he’ll be at community meetings and district events; he actually shows up and participates. He doesn’t just say he’ll respond to constituent requests, he actually does, and fast too! Rep. Ward doesn’t just talk about creating jobs, he’s a member of the bipartisan Small Business Caucus and has authored dozens of bills aimed at helping businesses create jobs. And Rep. Ward doesn’t just say he fights for our values, he actually does. As the endorsed candidate for both the NRA and Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, he has put our district and our values ahead of party politics.

My personal experience reinforces this. When we had concerns about our house insurance increases, John gave us helpful and immediate advice. When a friend had difficulties with her mortgage banker, John jumped right in to help. Isn’t that what we want and treasure in our representatives?

We get a lot of “talk” from our candidates, but little “walk” once they’re elected. We’re fortunate right now to have a state representative who walks the walk. I’ll be voting to keep Ward in office on November 6. I hope you’ll join me.
