Contact information

Communication with our elected officials, federal, state and local, is important. At one time their contact information was listed in the Brainerd Dispatch and other papers but that no longer occurs, particularly with the change of the Brainerd staff a few months ago. Wonder if after the November election they will print new legislative contact information?

Over the years I have on occasion asked questions or given comments on legislative issues. When I communicated with Jim Oberstar I always received a reply and it was direct to the question or comment I asked. When I communicated with Chip Cravack I never received a written reply. What does that say about his demeanor?

I also think back to the July 8, 2012 editorial in the Brainerd Dispatch where it states that Mr. Cravack wants to initial a Vehicle Miles Traveled tax which would be another financial backbreaker for all of rural Minnesota.

It was also interesting to read an NBC news report dated August 12, 2012 titled “Database of US voter fraud finds no evidence that photo ID laws are needed”.

We all have to make choices.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
