Experience counts

Experience counts

My name is Bruce McComas and I am one of the 10 candidates for the three open District #181 School Board positions. Since I announced my candidacy, I have been overwhelmed by the encouragement I have received from old and new friends and would like to thank them for their support.

Having 41 years of experience in many facets of the education field, I have come to fully understand what is required to have a highly functioning, effective and efficient school board. The school board and its members must always consider the best interest of our students, and not individual agendas when making decisions. I have the time, passion, knowledge, resource network, and the financial, and decision-making experience to serve the community and school board with distinction.

In the midst of this year’s national election, it may be easy to forget that we have a local school election that is exceptionally significant to the future of our children’s education. I ask that you take some time to carefully consider your choices for the Brainerd board of education.

Review the profiles of the candidates in the Brainerd Dispatch and watch the forums and interviews hosted by the Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber and League of Woman Voters presented on local TV channels and make an informed choice. Your voice is vital, and I urge you to exercise your right to vote.

Your support and vote would be appreciated.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
