Ward Is a Vote for Lakes
Our region is known statewide as “the Brainerd lakes area.” Our beautiful lakes define us. They are the cornerstone of our local economy, recreational pursuits, tax base, and quality of life that make this area of Minnesota such a great place to live, work, and play.
Yet, aquatic invasive species (AIS) such as zebra mussels, eurasian watermilfoil, curlyleaf pondweed and others looming on the horizon threaten to “kill the goose that laid the golden egg.”
A vote for John Ward is a vote for protecting the future quality of our lakes. Rep. Ward has worked tirelessly in the House to pass stronger regulations that prevent the spread of AIS. In 2012, he authored a bill that passed into law doubling the fines for noncompliance of AIS laws, including failure to pull the boat plug when transporting a boat.
Tough issues call for tough solutions. Rep. Ward has pledged to continue the fight for tougher regulations and resources to protect our lakes and insure that our children, grandchildren, and future generations enjoy “the Brainerd lakes area”.
