Another view of birth control
In writing that birth control is needed to combat world hunger, a letter writer stated: “too many countries have let their population outgrow their country’s ability to produce the food needed to survive”.
Have let their population outgrow? It was a conscious governmental decision? Oh, please.
I have to assume that writer doesn’t believe that he should have not been born or that his parents were being irresponsible by wanting to have a child of their own.
Yet, that seems to be what he is advocating — have all the sex you want as long as you don’t bring another mouth into the world to feed.
In pushing for birth control, what the writer doesn’t say is what method should be used, how to get it to people, how to force them to use it and who is going to pay for it.
Really, what’s the bigger problem?
