Trying to help the poor sap

I had an odd vision the other day. While watching and listening to Rand Paul setting forth and expounding his usual nonsense, I was thinking that he reminded me of someone and couldn’t put a finger on it. Finally I realized it was Stan Laurel. I’m a senior citizen and have very fond memories of “Stan and Ollie.” No doubt there are many seniors out there that can relate.

It occurred to me that if Rand would put one of those little round Derbys on his head he would become a spitting image of Stan Laurel. To carry this thought a little further, if Rand would wear a little round Derby and scratch his head when he talks, he would resemble Stan so close he would obviously gather the love of all the people he presently can’t communicate with.

Ladies especially loved Stan, and Rand would surely gain the affection of an audience he doesn’t understand.

Well, don’t laugh. I’m just trying to help the poor sap. Rand, not Stan.
