Stores are handicapped unfriendly

This is to the stores/businesses in Brainerd-Baxter. I went shopping recently in a wheelchair due to an accident which put me in a cast. At the grocery store the motorized chair barely ran. Needless to say I will complain continually when stores are so handicapped unfriendly, they don't need our business!

God's blessings to you

A few months ago, I was at Walmart buying four large bags of salt. A man offered to put the heavy bags into my cart. After checking out, I went to my car where another man helped me load the bags. These men were customers like me, not employees. During the holiday seasons, it's nice to know that people still care and are willing to lend a hand to a senior citizen God's blessings to you during this holiday season.

Keep sidewalks shoveled

Please keep your sidewalks shoveled or plowed for us walkers because walking out in the street next to the curb is not a good thing and there is a $100 fine if you do not keep your sidewalks shoveled then the city will charge you again for removing the snow. Keep your sidewalks clear.

Where's the movies?

My friends and I used to go to the movies quite a bit but we don't anymore. We don't know what's on.

New cigarette wanted

Since cigarette lighters don't work in the cold winters of Minnesota I propose a better cigarette, one that you scratch on your pants to light.

Unemployment fraud

Too bad there's so much welfare and Social Security fraud but the one thing that really irritates me is the unemployment fraud. People hiring people on unemployment and paying them cash to work is called stealing. Both sides should get a large fine and jail time. Whoever turns them in should get some sort of a reward and it would be nice if the Dispatch would print such a telephone number to turn these people in.

Fix the road now

If anyone who drives on College Drive notices the tracks on the side of the road, you would see why there should be sidewalks. The poor students wade through this snow even down the banks. It is a shame that the owners of those apartments didn't add sidewalks a long time ago. Let's get this road fixed now just like our great street department wants it done.

Sound off on hairstyles

I just need to sound off the way women wear their hair these days. That straight, straggly stuff hanging in their face looks terrible. Is it because they are just lazy? At least they could just brush or comb it and get it out of their eyes.

(EDITOR'S NOTE: The Vox Pop Dept. of Bad Hair Days is considering issuing penalties in the lakes area to all men and women who have improper hairstyles.)

Embarrassed

To the person who thinks our national security could be improved by only screening dark-skinned people, I am embarrassed to live in the same community as you. Wait. You should be the one to be embarrassed and ashamed of yourself.
