Fishing legends

I feel blessed to live in an area where there are so many fishing legends. I think that these people have put the Brainerd lakes area on the national and international stage. I’m proud to live here and I believe they’ve done more for us sportspeople than we’ll ever know. They are leaving a very positive legacy which will benefit many generations to come.

Which is the appropriate department?

There has been a dead deer along Highway 371 in Nisswa for over two months. It’s been there through the past three major snowfalls. Most of the time it wasn’t even covered by snow. Calls were made to the city; we were told, “It’s the county.” Called the county, told, “It’s the highway department.” A week later, the deer is still there! Are you telling me during these past two months, not one police officer, city, county, highway department or state employee hasn’t driven through Nisswa? Why would no one call the “appropriate” department?

Read the research

To the public health officials who continually push the flu vaccine, please read the research. Stop embarrassing yourselves.

Golf is a sport

I can’t understand that you don’t consider golf a sport. I looked in the paper this morning and there was nothing about Arnold Palmer’s Invitational. Would you please, in the future, realize there are many people in this area that watch golf?
