Join the 21st century

The person that said they are bothered by complaints of wages paid in the Brainerd lakes area needs to join the 21st century. Times have changed. People that have lived here all their lives need fair wages to survive as well as put back into the community. When people struggle, local businesses get less money also. The wage scale has been sub-par in Brainerd for a long time. If employees are taken care of, they do better on their jobs. It’s a win/win situation. Maybe changes will bring an end to our double-digit unemployed rate.

Get real

I would like to make a mention about the voter IDs and denying people to vote. Let’s get real. Try boarding a plane, Amtrak or even cashing a check without two IDs and I mean official IDs. We have a big problem with people voting. Get real about this problem.

Disappointed with school leadership

I too am very disappointed with the local school leadership. We’ve seen what you did to our community, educators and continue to be disappointed with what you are doing to the students’ education. We need someone who doesn’t just jump on a program but can determine if it’s hoopla or beneficial to our students and can go back and measure whether or not it can be.

Even animals don’t dance like that

It’s about time so I say, “Hats off” to Principal Andrea Rusk for finally choosing to do the right thing. The students who are always causing trouble and rebelling should always have to leave. Everyone shouldn’t be punished for the few who are always doing wrong. But it happens because there aren’t always “a few” and that makes it much more difficult to correct. The principal was being kind by giving everyone a second chance (many chances in this case), but it never seems to help. The biggest problem is the parents who constantly support the disobedient students.
