Vox Pop-May 1

Only tree stumps?

I was just sick when I drove by the old Brainerd Regional Treatment Center grounds. Besides taking down the newest buildings in the State Hospital system (much newer than those at Willmar RTC which are being used by local businesses), the contractors have cut down every tree in the unused section of the campus, including those right in front of Highway 18. The property is an eyesore, reminiscent of the scene in Dr. Seuss’ book, “The Lorax,” that shows only tree stumps.

Eat cheap

Just making a comment on the county commissioners raising their meal allowances. I think it’s rather ridiculous. If they want to save money, start there. They don’t need to be going to places that meals cost that amount. You can get breakfast for less than $10. You can get a noon meal for less than what they’re giving them and supper is way less than that. They don’t need to patronizing the expensive places. Eat cheap like the rest of us do.

Reconsider bringing Vox Pop back

I’m disappointed that you guys stopped Vox Pop. There’s always some truth in what people are saying and sometimes you can’t put a name behind it because of the repercussions. I’d really like you to reconsider.
