This month’s agenda includes Crew membership and electing a board of directors, consisting of the following two-year terms: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, event director, membership director and director of trail maintenance.
The public is invited to attend the meeting, but only members of the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew are eligible to vote. The group is a division of Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists and the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Memberships may be obtained online prior to the meeting at www.morcmtb.org.
The Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew works closely with the DNR on maintenance and advocacy projects for the more than 25 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. It also plans and organizes fundraising events, such as the Cuyuna Lakes White Out, a winter mountain bike race scheduled March 3, and the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Festival scheduled June 8-10.
The Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails, an IMBA Ride Center, opened last spring and quickly became a national destination for mountain bike enthusiasts of all skill levels. The DNR reported more than 15,500 people visited the trails last season.
