An eye on spring

A winter like we are having this year is good for some things and not so good for others.

One thing that it has done is made me think ahead to spring more often. I hear reports that the resorts are booking rooms at a pace ahead of last year and I also have heard that boat sales are good.

Also, I’m sure the turkeys will soon be gobbling (if they aren’t already) and the water will be running down the holes and the pan fish will be slapping the bare ice.

We obviously do not know how things are going to unfold during the days ahead, but a little optimism can go a long way. New businesses opening their doors, newly remodeled restaurants reopening, some old resorts talking about new changes, these things will keep the Brainerd area a happening area. I am excited to see what comes next in our little business, too.

With a week remaining in the walleye/northern season around these parts, it’s not too late to get your line wet.
