Why do girls catch the most and biggest fish?

It happened again this morning up on Whitefish, and Fauna was the fish catcher among three guys. I have been guiding for quite some time and it rarely fails. And it always seems to happen when the ladies are outnumbered by the guys.

It was my first trip to Whitefish this season and I had to do quite a bit hunting for the fish.

The first decent fish that came up from the depths — 28 feet — was a ‘pout, and yes, caught by Fauna.

The next fish was the wrong species, too — a northern. I like pike, but not the little buggers. They are more annoying than anything.

The guys did get in on the action eventually, but Fauna ended up catching a 24-inch walleye to add to her total and certainly was the catcher of the day. I had said before we even wet a line that she would catch the most and/or the biggest and it held true once again.

I think the ladies catch more because they don’t try to will the fish to bite.

And there you have it.
