Making the right call when weather turns
Thursday was a good day on the water. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go as I woke up to drizzle and cooler than normal temperatures, but by day’s end success was achieved!
I was originally going to head up to the Whitefish Chain but I looked at the weather and also the fact that I had a 5-year-old and an 11-year-old, plus their grandparents. Four people fishing with a strong wind and chilly weather can be tricky so I opted for one of our smaller area lakes.
I was using my old boat on this day because the new one was in at Action Graphics getting a wrap. I thought I had transferred over everything I needed but 2 minutes into the trip I realized I had not done so. Becky got zapped off immediately by a northern and I soon realized my jig boxes were in the Larson. Thankfully Shelley was in town and was able to pick them up quick and deliver!
The fish were biting and it wasn’t long before everyone was on the board. Fishing guides have to make some last minute “calls” and on this day, the right one was made! I am not going to take credit for it though, I was fishing with a professor from North Central Bible College. Enough said!
Enjoy this race weekend and drive safe!
