Feb. 10 ice fishing report
Now that it is a little warmer it’s time for some serious hole hopping. It’s nice to get to those “secret” lakes and honey holes with out dressing in so many layers.
We have had alot of luck using very small baits for panfish, switching colors and sizes until you find that magic one. If you don’t have a spring bobber in your ice fishing aresenal, try one.
Lake of the Woods is still very unpredictable with both very good and very bad reports. People are finding some panfish on North Long, Nokay, Blackhoof and Perch lakes. Round and Gull lakes are still putting out some walleyes. Tip-ups with shiners on the edge or in the weeds 13-18 feet deep. A lot of the lakes accesses are getting pretty bad and also some heaves are forming everyday. Mille Lacs is starting to produce some nice perch on Buckshots or Jig-n-Raps tipped with a minnow head.
Hope to see everyone Feb. 16 at Ernies for “Take a Kid Ice Fishing Day”.
