Peeters, Hoge help Jimmies beat

C.J. Peeters of Brainerd and Mark Hoge of Crosby-Ironton helped the Jamestown College men's basketball team beat North Central University 85-74 on Saturday in Minneapolis.

The Jimmies (9-3) received a game-high 24 points from Peeters, who added 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Hoge, a freshman, scored nine points off the bench.

The Jimmies host Manitoba University on Friday night before taking a break for the holidays.

Four Flyers named CLC Performers of Week

Joey Hanowski, Adam Kempenich, Chelsea Rutz and Dilan Gastecki, all of Little Falls, were named Central Lakes Conference Performers of the Week ending Dec. 11.

In two boys hockey wins, Hanowski scored five goals and collected three assists.

In boys Nordic skiing, Kempenich recorded the fastest split time for the team and the Flyers placed second.

In girls Nordic skiing, Rutz skied the fastest freestyle split at the St. Cloud Apollo Relays and the Flyers won the meet.

In wrestling, Gastecki won the 189-pound championship at the Paul Bunyan Invitational.

Warrior JV skiers compete

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity Nordic ski team competed in Tuesday's St. Cloud Cathedral Invite.

Gerrit Garberich placed 13th in 22:31 and Dakota Swenson finished in 25:13 for the boys.

The Warrior girls were led by Tori Johnson's eighth-place time of 25:29. She was followed by Michaela Quast's ninth-place time of 25:54, Gabriella Haire's 13th-place time of 26:22, Martina Giger's 26:49, Madeline Pike's 2:52 and Rachel Bartosh's 30:00.

Warrior sophs win

The Brainerd Warriors sophomore boys basketball team defeated St. Cloud Tech 77-25 Tuesday.

Leading the way were Jack Sauer with 14, Marcus Comstock with 12 and Tony Sauer and Chris Bowman with nine each.
