LITTLE FALLS — Luke Majerle’s overtime goal lifted the Little Falls Flyers past the Northern Lakes Lightning 3-2 on Saturday in non-conference action.

Majerle scored on assist from Ben Newman 5:51 into the overtime period for the win.

The Flyers put 62 shots on the Lightning goal, but were in danger of losing until Joey Hanowski tied the game on an assist from Majerle at the 15:02 mark of the third.

The Lightning had 15 shots on net and received goals from Kyler Decent and Alex Fitch. Joey Bergquist had 59 saves for Northern Lakes.

RED LAKE FALLS — Bridger Pettit scored a hat trick, but Wadena-Deer Creek was plagued by power-play goals in a 10-7 loss to Red Lake Falls on Saturday. 

Pettit scored twice in the second and once in the third for the Wolverines, who had 30 shots on net.

Red Lake Falls scored a short-handed goal in the first and added four power-play goals, three of those in a six-goal second period for the Eagles.
