Thunderhawks storm past BHS

GRAND RAPIDS — Mason Fussy netted two goals but the Brainerd Warriors were over-run by the quick-scoring of Class 2A’s 14th-ranked Grand Rapids Thunderhawks in Tuesday 9-2 non-conference loss.

Fussy recorded his first goal, unassisted, in the second period with his second goal coming off assists from Josh Archibald and Adam Casperson in the third.

Just two minutes into the game, the Thunderhawks struck for two goals within eight seconds as they seized a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The Thunderhawks struck again, scoring two goals inside the first minute of the third period, for a 7-1 advantage.

Jared Stearns compiled 12 saves in net for the Warriors.
