PAYNESVILLE — Adam Dougherty punched in the winning goal as the Little Falls Flyers edged the River Lakes Stars 3-2 in overtime in Thursday’s Central Lakes Conference game.


Matt Stumpf and Ben Newman recorded first period goals for the conference-leading Flyers. Mike Stumpf recorded 28 saves in net for Class 1A’s 12th-ranked Flyers.

BREEZY POINT — Northern Lakes rallied from a 5-1 deficit after two periods to pull within a goal with less than a minute to play only to lose 6-4 when Moose Lake iced the game with an empty net goal in non-conference play Thursday.

Andy Sorben scored in the second period and the Lightning got third-period scores from John Houck, Kegan Couture and Connor Chambers.

Joe Herda made 32 saves in net for Northern Lakes, which was outshot 36-30
