The Brainerd/Baxter Women’s Bowling Association’s annual city tournament will begin Saturday and run through Jan. 30 at Paul Bunyan Bowl and Jack’s House.

Entry fee is $15 per event.

Special Olympics ice skating to be offered

The Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department will offer Special Olympics ice skating for challenged participants. 

Free skating lessons will be available every Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Gregory Park rink beginning Jan. 20. 

If a group home brings adults, all participants must be supervised at all times. Individual students must have a parent to supervise them.

Ice skates are available for use at the rink. There is no cost.

Warrior gymnasts win

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity gymnastics team defeated Fergus Falls 118.0-5.7 on Thursday.

Brainerd’s Jenny Muesing won the vault, bars and the all-around, Jackie Caughey won the beam and Meg Foster won the floor.
