BOYS BASKETBALL: Alex gets best of Warriors

ALEXANDRIA — Logan Peterson’s eight points led the Brainerd Warriors in a 61-42 Central Lakes Conference loss to the Alexandria Cardinals Thursday.

It was the ninth straight loss for the Warriors, who trailed 18-15 at halftime.

“We had a decent first half keeping them to 18 points,” said Brainerd assistant coach Brian Gustafson. “The second half they came out and hit some shots and we struggled to respond to that.  They hit seven 3s in the second half.

“We’ve just got to find a way to put the ball in the basket.”

Jack Sauer and Nick Belgum each added seven points for Brainerd.
