STAPLES — Kelly Pearson, Jaelin Beachy and Mikayla Wing all scored 13 points to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a 62-52 Mid-State Conference victory over the Crosby-Ironton Rangers Thursday.

Jana Anderson finished with 22 points to lead the Rangers and Chelsey Bonsante scored 15 points and Missy Foote grabbed 13 rebounds for C-I.

EDEN VALLEY — The Pierz Pioneers scored 18 unanswered points at the end of the first and the start of the second half as they erased a 23-8 deficit and pulled away for a 51-40 Central Minnesota Conference victory over Eden Valley-Watkins Thursday. 

Lindsay Monson scored 21 points, blocked three shots and finished with seven boards to lead the Pioneers. Jayme Sczublewski finished with 12 points and four steals.

BAXTER — Kelsey Grider registered 18 points and 14 rebounds Thursday in the Lake Region Christian Horents’ 49-29 win over the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig Silver Eagles.

Emily Beltran added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets to snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 18-2.

PARKERS PRAIRIE — Teresa Moenkedick scored 11 points as the Verndale Pirates were overwhelmed by Class 1A’s top-ranked and undefeated Parkers Prairie Panthers 77-36 during non-conference play Thursday.

The loss ended a three game win streak for the Pirates.
