Anderson competing in Big Ten meet

Brainerd High School graduate Jared Anderson placed 41st in the prelims of the 200-yard individual medley on the first day of the Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday.

The sophomore’s time was 1:51.81.

Anderson was scheduled to compete in the 100 breastroke Friday and the 200 breaststroke Saturday.

YMCA dodgeball tourney

The Brainerd Family YMCA is registering teams for a dodgeball tournament that will begin at 9 a.m. March 5 in the YMCA gym.

There will be three divisions of play: Co-ed men's and women's. Players must be at least 16 years old to play. 

Cost to participate is $75 a team. Pepsi Cola of Brainerd will provide free bottled water for all participants.
