Thomsen 5th overall in pro debut

Cody Thomsen of Lakeshore made an impressive showing in the FIM Snocross World Championship at Tuuri, Finland, last weekend.

In his pro class debut, Thomsen finished fifth overall on his Arctic Cat.

Minnesota’s Tucker Hibbert placed third on his Arctic Cat.

Sturm first, second

Colton Sturm of Nisswa turned in an impressive weekend on his Ski-Doo in the MSRA Hillcross event at Mt. Christie near Rice Lake, Wis.

Sturm placed first in Ultra Pro and second in Pro 900 and Pro Open. The finishes made Sturm a front-runner for the points championship in each class and overall.

Jordan Sherwood, formerly of Pine River, in his first race of the season, finished first in Semi Pro Open, second in Semi Pro 900, third in Semi Pro 800 and fifth in plus-25 on his Ski-Doo.

Rob Lange of Pequot Lakes was second in Sport 800 and third in Sport 700 on his Ski-Doo.

Steve Sherwood of Pine River won the Vintage class on his Polaris.

The final race of the season is a doubleheader Saturday and Sunday at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
