HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL Lynn, Bare power Aitkin to win

DEER RIVER — Dean Lynn and Travis Bare each went 3-for-3 for the Aitkin Gobblers in a 9-4 non-conference victory over Deer River Monday.

Lynn scored three runs and Bare added two RBIs. Jordan Chounard finished 2-3 with a sacrifice fly.

Evan Ferdelman pitched three innings, striking out three, to get the victory. Nathan Ehnstrom pitched the last four innings. He gave up just one hit while striking out five.

Little Falls 19, Milaca 4 

MILACA — Joey Hanowski finished 3-for-3 with a home run and six RBIs for Little Falls in a 19-4 victory over Milaca on Monday.

The Flyers totaled 13 hits and played errorless baseball.

Josh Wenzel, Joel Tuholsky and Mitch Gregory each had two hits and Matt Hanowski was a perfect 3-3. Tuholsky led the team with five runs.

Aaron Hallberg pitched three plus innings, giving up two hits and striking out five.

Pierz 10, Foley 9

PIERZ — Andy Leidenfrost’s two run double in the bottom of the eighth inning was the game winner for Pierz in a 10-9 victory over Foley in non-conference baseball Monday.

Dylan Kummet and Leidenfrost each had three hits and Brandon Kurowski, Ben Froelich, and Ben Boser each contributed two hits for Pierz.

Kurowski got the last out of the eighth inning to get the victory.

The Pioneers built a 6-1 lead after three innings, but trailed 9-7 going into the bottom of the eighth inning.
