AREA SOFTBALL: Pierz wins first of season


SWANVILLE — The Pierz bats exploded for 22 hits leading the Pioneers to a 20-4 triumph over Swanville Tuesday.

Pierz’s Miranda Woitalla went 4-4 with four RBIs, a double and three runs scored. Megan Boser also drove in four runs, while going 3-4 with a double, two runs and a stolen base.

Elizabeth Tomala pitched all five innings giving up just three hits, while striking out six and walking four.
