Public's help sought to locate missing man

LOCAL SPORTS SHORTS: Warriors’ Anderson, two Flyers honored

Nikki Anderson of Brainerd and Joey Hanowski and Devin Okerman, both of Little Falls, are among the Central Lakes Conference Performers of the Week ending April 16.

In softball, Anderson pitched a no-hitter and one-hitter in two Warrior victories.

In baseball, Hanowski, went 5-for-8 with a home run, double, five runs scored and nine RBIs.

In boys track and field, Okerman won the long jump (19-8) and was named the most valuable athlete at Milaca.

Traveling team tryouts

The Baxter 12-U traveling baseball team will hold tryouts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 28 at Baxter Park.

Suska player of week

Little Falls High School graduate Peter Suska of Itasca was named the MCAC Northern Division Player of the Week ending April 16.

Suska batted at a .700 clip (7-10) for the week and made two run-saving catches in the outfield. He had one extra-base hit and drove in four runs for the Vikings.

JV golfers seventh

The Brainerd junior varsity girls golf team placed seventh in a meet Monday at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell with a score of 245. 

Top four individual scores for Brainerd were Karlee Winkelman 58, Ashley Fitterer 61, Caitlin Steffen 61 and Emily Aga 65.

Inside the Warriors 

to meet at Bonanza

The Inside the Warriors weekly luncheon, hosted by the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club, is scheduled Thursday at Bonanza in Baxter.

Lunch costs $10 and begins at noon. This week’s program, which begins at 12:15 p.m. and lasts until 1 p.m., will be coach Bruce Thompson and boys tennis team.

Athlete of the Week Jenni Smolke will be honored.
