GIRLS GOLF: Three area golfers in top seven after first round


NISSWA — Emily Israelson of Staples-Motley was in third place, Jenny Muesing of Brainerd was sixth and Erika Schwalbe of Pequot Lakes seventh following the first round of the Warrior/Patriot Invite at the Pines on Wednesday. 

Israelson shot an 81 to trail first-day leader Tabitha Kunst of Duluth East by five shots. Muesing shot 85 and Schwalbe 88.

Pequot Lakes was in sixth place, Staples-Motley ninth and Brainerd 10th.
