Israelson shot an 81 to trail first-day leader Tabitha Kunst of Duluth East by five shots. Muesing shot 85 and Schwalbe 88.

Pequot Lakes was in sixth place, Staples-Motley ninth and Brainerd 10th.

“I was pleased to finally get outside and play a full 18-round,” Warriors co-head coach Brian Stark said. “It’s the first time the girls have done that this season, they hadn’t been out on the course a whole lot, but a couple times.

“I was pleased how they persevered. It started out warm. By the end of the day it was snowing, and sleeting.

“I know the girls weren’t pleased with their scores overall, but given it was their first 18-round I was pleased. I told them that (Thursday) is supposed to be a better day. Forget about today, (Thursday’s) a new day.

“I know Jenny wanted to have a better score. She struggled a little bit, but an 85 for her first 18-hole round is a good score.”

Crosby-Ironton was in 14th place, led by Abby Smith’s 122.

The tournament wraps up Thursday with 18 holes at the Preserve.
