AREA GIRLS GOLF Pequot team, Israelson prevail

PARK RAPIDS — Savannah Stone and Erika Schwalbe each shot 88 and Maggie Heggerston carded an 89 to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots to a first-place 355 during Monday’s Park Rapids Invite at Headwaters Golf Club.

Staples-Motley’s Emily Israelson shot 81 to take home individual honors and help the Cardinals to a tie for third place.

Wadena-Deer Creek finished ninth and Crosby-Ironton 10th.

Aitkin girls win

DEERWOOD — Brittany Searle earned medalist honors with a 51 as the Aitkin Gobblers finished 46 strokes ahead of the Isle Huskies and 67 strokes in front of the Onamia Panthers in Monday’s Great River Conference triangular at Cuyuna Country Club.

Team scores: 1-Aitkin 219, 2-Isle 265, 3-Onamia 286
