AREA SOFTBALL Tigers roar past Blackduck

PINE RIVER — Katie Wangberg hit a double, triple and drove in three runs to power the Pine River-Backus Tigers to a 19-2 non-conference win over Blackduck Monday.

Autumn Ackerman finished 3-4 with a double and two RBIs. Nicole Tulenchik drove in two runs as she went 2-2 and Taylor Sheley was 2-3 with one RBI.

Eden Valley-Watkins 8

PIERZ — Katelyn Fuhrman struck out six batters and finished 2-3 at the plate with four stolen bases, two runs, a double, and an RBI as the Pierz Pioneers edged the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles 9-8 during Monday’s Central Minnesota Conference game.

Brook Brausen added a pair of doubles and Megan Boser collected four RBIs and a triple for the Pioneers.
