BOYS GOLF Forsberg, Cards prevail again

ST. CLOUD —  Nick Forsberg shot 74 and captured the medalist honors after a two-hole playoff to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to first in the St. Cloud Apollo Invite Monday at Territory Golf Club.

Zach Israelson shot 78, Tanner Roberts 82 and Michael Strain 83 for the Cardinals 317 in cold conditions.

Brainerd placed sixth and were led by Tommy Olson’s 80. Aaron Rich shot 83 and Will Feyder an 85.

Little Falls tied with Willmar for 13th place. The Flyers were led by Thomas Smith’s 86 and 88s from Hunter Hanowski and Sam Klinker.
