TRACK AND FIELD: Farber wins long jump in final meet

MORRIS — Former Little Falls Flyer Alex Farber completed his collegiate track and field career for North Central University with a victory at the UMAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday.

Farber long jumped a winning distance of 6.70 meters in his second jump in the prelims. Despite scratching all three attempts in the finals the preliminary mark held up and he followed up his UMAC indoor victory with an outdoor crown.

He placed fourth when he high jumped 1.78 meters.

Farber was the lone all-conference award winner for NCU.

In his collegiate career, Farber was captain of the men's team in 2010 and 2011; All-American in the 2008 Outdoor and 2011 Indoor meets; set the NCU long jump record ( 22 feet, 8.5 inches); was all-UMAC in 2010 and 2011; and was a four-time NCCAA national qualifier.
